It has a thorough preface detailing past theories of aggression and he traces the lineage of the interactionist theory of aggression that he writes about in this book. The book shows how specific parts of the environment (divided into microlevel, mesolevel and macrolevel of both physical ecology and social ecology) play a role in specific aggressive behaviors. It also has a section called Intervention with principles that can be used in Environmental Design and Interpersonal Contact to prevent aggression.
