The Future of Long-Term Care: Social and Policy Issues ReviewBinstock and his fellow editors recruited well-known expert contributors to explore long-term care policy as the Baby Boomers become Grey-by Boomers. The chapters cover such topics as the Clinton/Gingrich policies on long term care, the impact of managed care and changing technology, and our better understanding of the political and cultural factors affecting the nursing home. There's lots of hard data, historical perspective, and regulatory history, but the real reason to read this book are the often-brillant insights offered by the contributors on the inconsistencies and ideological blinders of those who make long-term care policy. The writing is easy enough for even an amateur health care policy "groupie" to follow and the content is important enough that anyone concerned with long-term care issues should get a copy. My only regret...I didn't write it first!
