A Social History of England, 1200-1500 ReviewThis book, which is edited by Rosemary Horrox, provides a reasonably good collection of academic essays on medieval England. While the book's title says "1200-1500," I found that many of them focused on the 1300s. The essays provide a standard collection of topics in social history - law at various levels of government, women's role in society, economics, and social customs. If you've read moderately in British medieval social history, you are not going to find anything earth shattering in this book. However, the research presented in the essays is strong and reasonably solid. I'd recommend this book, although perhaps not at the $95 price tag listed here in Amazon.A Social History of England, 1200-1500 Overview
