Engaged Scholarship: A Guide for Organizational and Social Research ReviewThis book is written for academics in organisational theory (and adjacent fields like strategic management). This book is ideal for PhD students, but professors can get a lot out of it as well. I don't think non-academics would get anything out of this book.
It provides an in-depth primer of the research process. With in-depth I mean that you get more then the obvious material that often fills up the bulk of textbooks. Embedded n the text is also the author's personal recommendations after having spent decades as an academic. The book is especially important if you also care about doing relevant research (as opposed to just rigorous research).
After having followed the advice in this book you should also read Writing for Scholarly Publication. That book is more (cynically) focused on getting published. That is important too :-)Engaged Scholarship: A Guide for Organizational and Social Research Overview
